Beauty of Mariupol

Mariupol became famous worldwide after the start of the russian siege. Now we can only see pictures of a destroyed city, but even two months ago Mariupol was one of the most developed cities in Eastern Ukraine.

• 56 industrial enterprises were working in the city in January 2022.

• Mariupol was a major-important seaport and railroad junction

• There were so many cultural organizations: 35 libraries, 4 museums, 3 cinemas and one already mentioned Regional Drama Theater

• From 2017 two festivals were conducted in Mariupol each year, among them are: “MRPL City Festival” and “Gogolfest”. Both occasions were aimed at the city’s cultural development and attracting tourists.

Bank of Memories’ team visited Mariupol several times before the war. We were impressed by the city’s beauty, it was also famous for street art and city murals. Using augmented reality (AR), we succeeded in making digital copies of art masterpieces in Mariupol. You can see some of them in the following video.

It is impossible to destroy digital memories. They are permanently stored using distributed ledger technologies and blockchain. We are proud about our cultural legacy and believe that every building will be reconstructed.
