Mariupol was an extremely beautiful city with lots of museums and other cultural organizations. In November 2021, Bank of Memories conducted a training with the Georgy Korotkov Gallery. The museum was opened in 1997 and was famous among Mariupol’s residents and visitors.

Bank of Memories trained teams of a digital laboratory on digitalization of historical and cultural heritage. USAID (https://www.usaid.gov) invested more than $200k in equipment for the first digital lab in Ukraine and Eastern Europe devoted to support cultural initiatives. Now it is all destroyed by russian army.

We are proud to run such useful projects that contributed to Ukrainian digital heritage. Due to the training, museum employees were able to create a digital copy of masterpieces, from a video to a full-fledged digital model, which can be transferred to virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR)

Unfortunately, Mariupol was particularly destroyed during the russian invasion in Ukraine and we do not know if the Georgy Korotkov Gallery in Mariupol exists. But, we managed to preserve the digital copy of masterpieces and we will show them to the world.

We wish you a peaceful sky over your country! Keep going and save memories for future generations.
