What can be more interesting than famous families history? Unfortunately, not all the information about the world`s well-known has been preserved, but we have prepared for you the most exciting pieces of it.

The Royal family of Denmark. Denmark’s royal family has a pedigree that is not only one of the world’s oldest, but also one of the most fascinating stories and legendary people. The ancestry of the Danish royal dynasty is supposed to originate with none other than the legendary Viking king Gorm the Old, who is commonly regarded as the first monarch to govern over a united Denmark in 958. Queen Margrethe II now sits on the Danish throne, although her role is mostly symbolic and restricted.

The British Royal Family. With origins stretching back to the 9th century, the British royal family can also claim to be one of the world’s oldest families. The British royal family has perhaps attracted more international attention than any other monarchy in history. The Queen Elizbeth 2 is considered to have the longest period of reign. During her being the Queen, 14 prime ministers and 14 the USA’s presidents changed. Astonishing, isn’t it?

The Japanese Imperial Family. According to some estimates, Japan’s Imperial Family is the world’s oldest monarchy, with a recorded pedigree reaching back to 660 BC. It’s believed that the sun goddess Amaterasu Omikami presented the set of imperial accoutrements to her grandson, Ninigi no Mikoto. Emperor Jimmu was the first to pass them on to his descendants, the emperors. For a long period of time Japanese emperors were view as deities. The Japanese emperor’s tasks are mostly ceremonial, although they do involve a scattering of formal governmental obligations, as they are in many modern monarchs across the world.
